This 50-site campground is located in the Aboriginal community called Essipit, near Escoumins. Hiking paths lead down to the shore where you can watch whales in the river coming up to breathe.

This much larger, 200-site campground is located at Tadoussac and has a spectacular view over the Saguenay fjord.

Tipi Campground
To see the river, you will need to hike down one of the trails from the campground to the shore of the river. From there, you watch the whales and see boats navigating up and down the river.

At the Lac Gilles site, on the Domaine du Lac des Cœurs, we have a system of solar panels that provides electricity for the lights and refrigerators in the cottages. However, stoves and hot water heaters still run on propane.
